Cumberland Lake Park is on Comox Lake, 4 km west of Cumberland. Cumberland is part of the Comox Valley, on the eastern flank of central Vancouver Island. It’s located approximately 1 hour north of Nanaimo, 3 hours north of Victoria and just 2.5 hours from Vancouver’s Horseshoe Bay via Nanaimo.
Cumberland Lake Park offers guests the option of serviced (water/power) and unserviced campsites, boat launch, public beach, coin-operated showers (loonies), concession, hiking trails, climbing crags and firewood & ice sales. A free sani-dump is located at the North end of Cumberland Village Park on Royston Road in the Village of Cumberland (6 km away).
Cumberland Lake Park welcomes pets! While staying on the property, dogs must remain on a leash and guests are expected to pick up after their pets. From May 1st-September 30th, dogs are not permitted on the main beach, but there is a designated section of beach outside the campground and park boundaries where well-behaved dogs are permitted to run and play off leash. The park is located on a public beach within a municipal park that boasts an extensive trail network that pets and their people are welcome to use and explore.
